The beginning.
Photography has always been somewhat of a passion of mine. I love how someone can create a lasting memory for another person just by using a camera. I honestly didn't think I would ever pursue photography as a career but things change and people change and now I'm just fortunate to be doing something that I love. When I graduated Highschool I got a job, my first job, at a place called Kiddie Kandids. It was a photography studio that specialized in Children's photos. We also did a lot of family and maternity portraits as well. I was nervous at first..to do a job like that you had to be very outgoing and get completely out of your element to capture the childs attention. Once I got used to the job though I fell in love with it. To see the smile on a mother or fathers face once they've seen the finished product of what I had created for them made me feel so happy for them and complies her in what I’d set out to do. I loved being able to create a memory for a parent that they could keep forever. I was at that job for about two years and had to leave to find a job closer to where I lived. It was sad and I thought my "photography" days were pretty much over.
In August 2010 I gave birth to my amazing baby boy. All I wanted to do was take pictures of him like many other new parents. I had a really bad camera and used my phone camera a lot. I was disappointed with the way my pictures came out. I had always wanted an SLR camera so about two months after my son was born I got my camera for my birthday. I was in love with it and it instantly became my second baby. I loved teaching myself how to take the best pictures possible. Obviously my son was my main model. I took pictures of him all of the time and practiced in manual mode until I was pleased with the way the lighting and photos came out. Many people began seeing these pictures on my personal facebook page and gave me really good feedback. I took my sister Michelle's maternity pictures for her and after I saw how those turned out I decided why not try to pursue this. It is something I love and I can make some money on the side while being a stay at home mom as well. It has definitely been an amazing experience so far and I'm only getting started. My son Michael Leif and daughter Hadley Elise are my inspiration for everything I do. Without them my life wouldn't be complete.
